Nissan Chief: Hybrid Cars Make No Sense

The head of Nissan Motor Co.Nissan Motor Co., said that building hybrid vehicles makes little sense because they cost so much to produce. "They make a nice story, but they're not a good business story yet because the value is lower than their costs," said Nissan Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn.

Volkswagen AG, Europe's largest car manufacturer, signed a strategic alliance deal with Daewoo to market its vehicles in South Korea. Under the agreement, Volkswagen, which has been grappling with falling sales in South Korea's steadily growing imported car market, will sell its passenger cars in Daewoo Motor's showrooms, it said.
