Honda Wants To Make Cars in Vietnam

Japan's Honda Motor Co. is seeking approval from local authorities to expand into car production in Vietnam by investing an extra $58 million. According to the Dow Jones newswire, Honda is planning to make less-than-nine-seat cars from this year to sell in Vietnam.

Currently, Honda has invested $151 million in a joint venture, where it has a 70% stake, to produce motorbikes, and the firm wants to raise its investment to $209 million to include automobile production from 2005.
