Petrol prices have risen to another all-time high, with drivers' average monthly bill now almost £100, it has been revealed. Prices now average 91p a litre, compared with only 79.6p a litre in January, according to the AA Motoring Trust. It all means that UK motorists are now spending a total of £8.32 million more a day on petrol than they were at the beginning of the year.
The average monthly petrol bill has gone up from £87.43 in January to £99.95 in August. (Lucky them, I’m paying £150 a month :o| )
Ruth Bridger, petrol price analyst for the AA Motoring Trust, said: "With the average two-car UK household paying more than £25 per month extra on petrol, a slowing down of the price rise offers little relief, particularly while oil prices are still volatile."
