Learner Driver Myths

Learner driversA new survey for the RAC School of Motoring shows that many learner drivers are putting their faith in myths about who passes and who fails driving tests. One of the most common myths is that candidates have a better chance of passing outside the capital, which has been proved to be false. And one of the weirdest is that women who wear Pat Butcher style earrings will fail, as they annoy examiners.

Naming Your Car

Dorothy Paskvan does not have to worry about people knowing her passion for the Wizard of Oz. She, and her little dog Toto travel in a silver Volkswagen Beetle named Dototoz. The car's number plate proudly boasts the name. People name pets, children and favourite childhood toys so it shouldn't be a surprise that some affectionately name their vehicles.

What driving animal are you?

Driving-AnimalA UK psychologist has come up with a strange zoological analogy for British motorists. He has identified several different ways of dealing with our road conditions, and has categorised drivers as panthers, elephants, peacocks and gazelles, on the grounds that they are using animal instincts to cope with today's congested urban jungle.
